This game is a proof of concept for a new modern classic survival horror game Munitum.

Munitum is a modern take on classic survival horror, being developed using Unity Game Engine and being made by two independent game developers - Vidas Games and Aaron Wise.

Inspired by old-school horror games, Munitum not only features fixed camera angles, puzzles, multiple endings, escaping and hiding from the terrors, but also a set of new game mechanics that are unique to Munitum - the protagonist is missing an arm that keeps bleeding and needs to be often sealed with fire in order to stabilize the hero's health. Having one arm limits what you can carry, managing your inventory is vital to your survival.

The bunker is home to a psychotic killer who will stalk the rooms searching for you. Armed with an axe he will hunt you down relentlessly, making you feel fear and tension every step of the way. Even if you find a hiding place it might not protect you.

The bunker consists of multiple rooms, including the killer's personal collection of his victims' arms, explore areas such as the incinerator room where the killer disposes of the bodies, the bedrooms for a short stay of his victims, the kitchen, the basement and a lot more. Each room contains the most sadistic traps - pressure plates, barb wire boxes, doors that lock themselves, levers, switches, items that require your blood to progress and areas to hide. But don't hide forever, because you will bleed out.

The multiple endings' aspect of the game allows you to find many ways to escape the bunker. Some of these endings require more than you were prepared for and can potentially stop you on your last step to freedom. Good endings, bad endings, secret endings, it's all out there for you to discover.

Munitum is being created by a small team and needs a lot of development time and effort to complete the project. The proof of concept that you can play right here showcases the potential of what Munitum will become, expanding on the bunker, more endings, items, unique puzzles, new game modes, even new killers!

W A S D - move

E - interact / pick up items

F - use certain items

Q - drop selected item

1 2 3 - select inventory items

The fire stops the bleeding

So I'll admit, I got nowhere near where I was expecting to, I didnt expect the controls to act how they did and I struggled a bit (to my own fault as Im not the best with similar keyboard controls regardless). However, I thoroughly enjoyed what bit of the game I could explore, and I know theres a lot this game has to offer that I got nowhere near in the video. Hopefully y'all can forgive my poor gameplay, and if you enjoy PS1 style horror (which is what it made me think of personally), definitely give this a chance! Another great game from Vidas!

Thanks for playing!

I got all five endings, but there's one thing I couldn't figure out. What does the treadmill switch in the gym room activate?

It opens a door that you probably got into without realising then, good job, glad you enjoyed!

Had a good time with this one. Figuring out the puzzles, looping the killer and piecing together how to unlock all 5 endings. Hit notes of the old school RE/SH types of games with movements, feel, fixed camera mercy, graphics.
The bleeding mechanic was interesting and added a time management element to already dealing with hiding and the killer.
Very well done and look forward to the next steps!

Thank you for playing and supporting Munitum!

(+1)

Good to hear! Speedrun ending by far xD

(+1)

Can you make an update to this game that'll allow us to change the controls?

I'd like to be able to play it using the arrow keys.

Yeah we could make an update, you'll still need to use the reat of the buttons for other interactions, is there a reason why WASD keys don't work is not your preference?

It works fine, it's just not my preference, I'm not used to the WASD Keys when their so close to the interaction keys.

You'll probably better off making an update which allows all keys to be configurable, if I'm being completely honest with you.

(+1)

It's something that we will look at but for now it wouldnt be a priority since most players on PC will use WASD to control.

controller support would be a higher priority at this stage but it's something to do for sure.

(1 edit) (+1)

I've decided I'm just going to wait till the full release to see what you and your team plan to do with the game.

Will the full game explain the origins of the parasite and if there's a way to remove it from Luke's body without killing him?

I don't think we ever discussed the idea of the thing on his arm to actually be a parasite. All I can say is this. "Watch this space & everything will be revealed".

Glad to hear and thank you for playing!

(+1)

Thanks so much for playing. Glad you liked it.

Thanks everyone for playing so far! Really cool to see people enjoying the Munitum!

(+1)

Not enough to just describe with words - pure chills!

Loved the showcase. Every little detail is done with care, attention and at the end of the day, the quality is what matters. I was not able to stop playing, going around the rooms, running from the tall "dude" and screaming my a@$ off, the reason why I was not able to capture the brilliance of this game, yet I hope my video helps.

Can't wait for the bigger game. Wish you both best of luck. You are true inspiration, personally for me and my work, really can't get better than this. Cheers mates!

(+1)

Hey Niven, thanks so much for playing & making a video! Really appreciate it!

(+1)

Thanks for playing!

(1 edit) (+1)

Are all 4 endings included in this demo version? The game is really good!

Yes, 4 endings + 1 secret ending after you get the other ones, so 5 ENDINGS in total available in this game already ๐Ÿ‘

Thank you very much, we worked really hard on this and we will make a much bigger game once we reach our funding goals on Indiegogo. Happy to see you're enjoying it!

(+1)

Hey, thanks for playing & supporting the game!

(+2)

you should develope and then sell this game with Price. this game really has a big potential, Nice gameplay about burning the Chopped Arm, and Fixed Camera like Resident Evil Code Veronica with 3D background. but Can you please give more options for the Movements Control? I dont like "Tank Mode Control" movement tbh. I will try to get the ending, at least one Ending lol, this game is too hard for me.

(+1)

Thanks so much for playing. We are still working on it but wanted player feedback. Thank you for the video also. Trust us when we say we agree we feel this has a lot of potential.

please make sure to follow & check out the indiegogo page for more information. โค๏ธ

Thank you for playing! Yes the game will be worked upon and expanded a lot, we have Indiegogo campaign for that so we would love to give everyone a much bigger experience, thank you for your feedback and a video!
